I'm new to this whole writing/self promotion thing, and I'm quickly learning that writing is the easy part.  It's the self promotion that's hard.  I'm not very good at self promotion it seems. I've started a website (thank you for visiting it by the way!), a Facebook page, Goodreads page, ect... but word on my book is slow going.  Blood of the Son, my first book, has been out for 19 days now.  I've sold a fair number of books so far, don't get me wrong, and I'm getting a lot of positive feedback from it, but I think i could do better.  (High achiever over here!  Lol!)  I ordered some awesome bookmarks to pass around at bookstores in Austin and to give to fans who've read the book, so that's a good start.  I've also ordered some other goodies that I'll be offering free here on my website in the next couple of weeks, but I'm sort of at a loss for what else i can do.  I keep telling myself that once i get more books out there word will spread.  We shall see.  =o)  I think I'll do some research and see what other Authors have to say about it. 

Anyway, for those of you who are interested, I'm almost done writing book two, 'Sins of the Father'.  I was shooting for an August release date, but it will probably be out by July.  I'll keep you updated, of course.

I started writing my first book, Blood of the Son, on March 28, 2011.  Over the next nine months, completely caught up in Skye Morrison's exciting world, i would work tirelessly to perfect it.  I've never written anything before, so when i completed the book on December 22, 2011, i was beyond ecstatic!  It was a pretty big deal in my little world... 

I think my love affair with vampires started very early on in life.  I remember watching my first vampire movie when i was seven years old.  It was The Lost Boys with Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, and the "Two Coreys".  I had never seen anything like it before; it was a completely new concept to me...  Hot guys in leather jackets didn't hurt either!  Since then, I've devoured book after book, movie after movie.  Vampires became my obsession. 

About two years ago i got my Kindle and started downloading indie ebooks.  I soon realized that this was the perfect opportunity for me to try my hand at writing.  Amid encouragement from my husband and family, i sat down to write...and didn't stop.  Skye Morrison's world became the very air i breathed for the next nine months.  I found out i wasn't half bad at this writing thing...at least, that's what i've been told.  But, see for yourself.  My first book, Blood of the Son, is available starting 3/6/2012 wherever ebooks are sold.  Or, visit my website (www.JLMcCoy.com) and click on the Skye Morrison Series tab.  There you will find links to where my book is currently being sold.
